COVID-19 Quarantine Options

On December 2, 2020 the CDC published updated guidelines for quarantine options. CDC currently is recommending 14 days of quarantine, but there are acceptable alternatives. Options for the shortened quarantine time are as follows:

  • No symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring, then quarantine can end after day 10 without any testing.
  • If diagnostic testing is sufficient, a negative test after day 7, and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring, then quarantining can be discontinued after day 7 (but not earlier).

It is important that you make the best decision for your business. Review the full notice from the CDC Options to Reduce Quarantine for Contacts of Persons. Determine if you will adopt the options outlined by the CDC or continue the 14 day quarantine. Ensure that you have communicated any changes or updates to employees and are consistent in the carrying out quarantine guidelines to all employees.
