Safety Tip #3: PPE & Summer Clothing Safety

Written Article

With Summer 2025 starting tomorrow, June 20, it’s important to stay cool, but not at the expense of your safety. Light-colored, loose-fitting clothing can help prevent overheating, but it should always be worn in coordination with required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Tip: Choose breathable, moisture-wicking base layers under PPE, and make sure all gear—like hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear—fits properly and is worn correctly at all times.

Improperly fitted PPE can be just as dangerous as not wearing any at all. Loose clothing should never interfere with equipment function or become a snag hazard.
